Devices must say direct mail Reply Buyers Sales Letter How to respond

My brother-in-law says that you should be grateful for truck drivers because everything you buy has been handled at some point by a truck driver. LoWayne is a truck driver, so it is biased. But I think he's right anyway.

It depends on truck drivers for your life. And, if you are a direct mail marketer, devices that depend directly on email response to your livelihood. Response cards and orders are devices that ensure the customer's order for your business. Without them, no direct mail operation takes place.

That's why one of the most important parts of your direct mail sales letter is a copy that tells the buyer how to order. Somewhere in your letter and your coupons should be given explicit instructions that tell the prospect that the prospect has to do to close the sale. Here are some ideas.

1. Tell them to fill in the form

This seems self-evident and redundant, but you have to tell potential buyers what they do. So start by telling them to complete the order form. In your letter, say something like this: "Please complete the enclosed order now."

2. Tell them how to return the card

If you use a business reply card, say the right buyer on the card to complete and return the card to you. Make sure buyers know that they are required to do something.

3. Tell them what to include

If you use a business reply envelope, say buyers need to put into it. Maybe it's a check. Maybe a poll. Specify what you need to make the buyer: "Put this card in the enclosed envelope with your paid shipping allowance of $ 96,989, payable to Sharpe Copy, Inc."

4. Tell them what you get in return

Where possible, describe the benefit that buyers receive for completing and returning the device response or order form. For example, "complete and mail this card today to receive your free Sample Pack Oriental Tea".

The vendors do not make a sale until they ask for the order. And your sales letters do not close the store unless you ask for the device response .......
